1. What it is the IYPT?
IYPT is the acronym for International Young Physicists ' Tournament,
or, International tournament of Young Physicists. It is an
educational, playful and creative event, destined the students
of average education, servant, in Russia, in 1979, for the
professors of the Department of Physics of the State University
of Moscow. Its main differential in relation to other analogous
events is the colaborativa resolution (in teamses) and the
nature of the problems to be decided, in general, curious
phenomena or of the daily one. Since 1988, to each year, the
tournament if carries through in a different country and each
country can participate with a teams of five students.The
20 th IYPT will occur in Bratislava,Republic of Slovak, in
the period of 5 - 12 of July of 2007.

Objectives
The objectives of the IYPT are to stimulate the interest of
the students for the Physics, to develop the independent and
creative thought (comment, reply the challenges, analysis
of arguments, creativity), and to develop the abilities of
the investigativo work (concentration, formularization of
hypotheses, establishment of cause-effect relations, deduction,
induction, construction of hypotheses) and colaborativo (respect
to other opinions, leadership, sharing of ideas, division
of responsibilities, administration of conflicts).

The problems
International the Organizador Committee formulates 17 problems,
whose better resolutions are presented in the IYPT for the
teamses of the participant countries. The resolutions are
presented in 5 sessions of 3 hours of duration each, called
"Physics Fights" (Combats of Physics), the which
teamses of three countries debate its resolutions verbally.
The three teamses with bigger punctuation participate of a
final session that defines the winners of the tournament. The official
language of the tournament is the English.

IYPT - Brazil
The IYPT - Brazil is a non-governmental organization and without
lucrative ends that have as objective to divulge the IYPT
in Brazil, spreading the spirit of the investigative and colaborative
work in the Brazilian schools. For this, it stimulates, it
guides and suport the accomplishment of pertaining to school,
regional and state tournamentes, organizes the Brazilian tournament
of Physics - TBF, and selects, guides and prepares the students
for the international tournament.
