Location: The airport is located 25km (18 miles) northeast of São Paulo


Transfer Between Terminals: The two terminals are situated close enough together for passengers to access them on foot.

Driving Directions: To reach the airport, take either the Ayrton Senna or Presidente Dutra highway.

Car Parking: Long- and short-term parking is available at the airport.

Car Hire: Companies represented at the airport include Avis, Budget, Hertz, Interlocadora, Localiza and Unidas.

Taxi: Prepaid radio taxis serve the terminals. Bus: The airport bus connects with Congonhas Domestic Airport and the city centre, there is also an executive city bus for which tickets should be purchased in advance on the Arrivals floor. There is also a shuttle minibus service which runs to the city centre (journey time to the city centre: 30-50 minutes for all methods of transport).
Information and Help Desks:There are tourist information desks (tel: (0)11 6445 2380 or 6445 4029) on the Arrivals floor of Terminals 1 and 2 and there are also two Infraero information counters in both terminals. Comunicação Social can help with specific enquiries (tel: (0)11 6445 2256 or 6445 2891).

Money and communications: Banks with bureau de change facilities and ATMs are located at the airport. There is also a 24-hour post office in Terminal 1. Eating and drinking: Restaurants selling refreshments are available in both terminals. Shopping: Shops, including duty-free, are available in both terminals.

Other facilities: First aid facilities and pharmacies are located in both terminals.

Conference and Business Facilities:Business facilities (telephone, fax machines and computers) are available on the Departures floor of the administration building (fax: (0)11 6445 3173 or 6412 3335). As well as VIP lounges, there are two conference rooms that can each accommodate 80-100 people.

Facilities for Disabled Travellers: Facilities for disabled travellers include ramped access and lifts, adapted toilets and telephones

Gateway: The main gateway to Brazil is Galeão Antonio Carlos airport, located 20 km north of Rio, on Governor's Island in Guanabara Bay.

Terminals and Check-in: There are two terminals at the airport, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The two terminals are not far apart and are connected by a travelator.

Airport facilities:For dining and snacking, several restaurants are available in Terminal 1 and numerous restaurants and cafés are also located in Terminal 2's central commercial area.
24-hour facilities include left luggage, first aid, a snack bar and post office, and luggage lockers. There is also a small hospital in Terminal 1.

Business and meetings: Conference and business facilities are located at the Luxor Hotel which is located at the airport (Tel: + 21 3398 3223).

Shopping and money: Shops are located in Terminal 1 and in the central commercial area of Terminal 2.There are several banks and a bureau de change located in Terminal 1.

Disability assistance: Those with special needs are catered for with lifts, automatic doors, adapted telephones and specially-designed toilets. Car parking spaces for the disabled are also provided.

Information: Further information is available at the Infraero information desks, found on the second floor of the blue sector in Terminal 1 and on the departures floor in Terminal 2. Automated information screens are also on hand in Terminal 2.
